Factors Associated With Adherence to Treatment Regimen in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes in Sari, Iran

Background & Aims: As a chronic disease with many complications, diabetes requires adherence to treatment regimen. Despite the importance of adherence, it is not done completely in these patients. Non-adherence has personal and social consequences. Adherence diabetic patients can lead mortality reduction success diabetes. Considering that regimen challenging among less attention been paid Iran, present study aims identify factors related Sari, Iran. Materials Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional was conducted 2021 on 226 adults Type 2 referred Baghban clinic affiliated Mazandaran University Medical Sciences Iran who were selected using continuous sampling method. Data collected demographic form activities questionnaire. Questionnaires prepared online Google Forms. analysis performed SPSS software, version 26. Results: The mean age participants 53.06±10.81 years. Most them female (61.9%) married (85.8%) high school diploma (26.5%) moderate economic status (69%). Economic status, age, BMI had significant relationship (P<0.05); positive while negative Diabetic better higher lower adherence. Conclusion: provides basis for expanding knowledge regimens It necessary healthcare providers, especially nurses, pay providing care education have treatment.
